Tequistlatecan Family
Oaxaca Chontal
The Tequistlatecan family currently consists of two closely related languages that have been called Oaxacan Chontal (chontal de Oaxaca): Highland Oaxaca Chontal and Lowland Oaxacan Chontal (also called Huamelulteco). Both languages of this family are considered endangered, but especially Lowland Oaxacan Chontal. It has not been proven that the Tequistlatecan family related to any other language and so at present it is considered a family isolate.
