This is a technical reference grammar of the Yaqui language that is spoken in the state of Sonora, Mexico, as well as in several communities in southern Arizona. Topics covered include the phonology, the sentence structure, and all the parts of speech, especially the verbs. The descriptions of each topic are illustrated by analyzed phrases and sentences. At the end of the book is an analyzed Yaqui text that provides a sample of a full discourse in a natural context.
